Concepcion Martinez Lopez, 79, of Greenwood, Miss., died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Miss. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, in Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Andrew Nguyen will officiate.
Mrs. Lopez was born in Guatemala on Dec. 8, 1943, to Brijido Martinez and Elisa Gomez de Martinez. She was of the Catholic faith and was a homemaker, enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved to cook and travel. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Felipa Martinez and Rosalia Martinez.
She is survived by her husband, Federico Lopez Sr. of Greenwood, Miss.; children, Rudy Lopez of Clinton, Miss., Johanna Tompkins of Louisa, Ky.; Federico Lopez Jr. of Greenwood, Miss.; and Cecilia Rivino of Olive Branch, Miss.; brother, Pedro Martinez of Guatemala City, Guatemala; sister, Fidelia Martinez of Guatemala City, Guatemala; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
