Audine Ainsworth Everett, 79, passed away at the University of MS Medical Center in Jackson on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Greenwood Delta Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will be held Tuesday Oct. 31, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Greenwood Delta Funeral Home with interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Corley will officiate.
Audine was born on Dec. 31, 1943, to Cleo and Matha Burrell Ainsworth in Holmes County, Miss. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1962. She married her sweetheart, Jimmy Ray Everett in June of that year. She had been a lifelong resident of the Greenwood and Carroll County area. She worked for 33 years as a bookkeeper for Gresham McPherson Oil Company. Audine enjoyed working in the garden, fishing, and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grand kids. She loved to have her family over to eat where she could cook and enjoy their company. Her main passion was serving Christ with her Coila Baptist Church family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her presence will truly be missed by all the family and friends who knew her best.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo, and Matha (Shorty) Ainsworth; brother, Billy (Pudgy) Ainsworth; and nephew, Tommy Ainsworth.
Audine is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jimmy Ray Everett; two daughters, Becky Mitchell (Mike Thomas) of Black Hawk and Taylor Everett Williams (Jordan) of Cleveland; two sons, Stephen Everett of Black Hawk and Jimmy Ray Everett Jr. (Eden) of West Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Bruce (Jeff) of Greenwood, Brandi Gregory of Raleigh, N.C., Ashley Everett (Marty Baker) of Greenwood, Stephanie Ivey (Clint) of Carrollton, Stephen Ray Everett Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., Santana Everett, Ryder Everett, and Presley Everett of West Columbia, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Ainsworth of Carrollton, Weston Baker of Greenwood, Anne Hays Everett of Tupelo, Ainslie Blair Bruce of Greenwood, Ella Ray Everett of Tupelo, Emalie Bruce of Greenwood, and Cohen Acy of Grenada.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Cheek, David Cheek, Allen Weaver, Tim Crowder, Jack Burrell, Ricky Burrell and James Burrell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Baker, Ronnie Cheek, David Cheek, Mike Thomas, Clint Ivey, Jeff Bruce, Kenny Everett, James Ferguson and Mike Harmon.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the late Dr. Michael Boler for the many years of medical care and friendship. As well as to Dr. Patel, Dr. Harvey, Dr. Tyler Sesame Dr. Pollard, Dr. Blair Wiygul and Nurse McKenzie and the other Nursing staff for the medical care given to her while she was at UMMC.
Memorials may be made to Coila Baptist Church or the charity of donor’s choice.
