Funeral services for Mrs. Anita Walters was Monday, May 15 in the Chapel of Oliver Funeral Home at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Howard Beam officiating the services. Visitation was at the funeral home from noon until service time.
Mrs. Walters was a native of Winona, owner of A&T Discount Tobacco for 25 years and a member of North Winona Baptist Church.
Mrs. Walters loved her grandchildren and family. All who knew her, knew she generously and unselfishly gave much above her means, to help all in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Sam Garrard and Myrtis Mims Garrard; daughter, Rhonda Allen Hunt; two brothers, Sam Gerald Garrard and Eugene Garrard; and two great-granddaughter’s, Alexia Lanee’ Sistrunk and Mary Blair Sparks.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her daughter, Karen Allen Sistrunk (Gary) of Sebastopol; son, Charles Ray Allen II (Tammy) of Olive Branch; 11 grandchildren, Jason Sistrunk (Wendy), Brandon Sistrunk (Lacie), Tyler Sistrunk, Cassidy Foley (Destiny), Ashley Hunt Eldridge (Clay), Michael Hunt (Emily), Nikki Hunt Britt (Craig), Delana Alen Sparks (Lee), Andrew Allen, Cassidy Allen, and Lauren Allen; 11 great-grandchildren, Milly, Jase, Sawyer, Brody, Fisher, Sophie, Sadie, AnaBella, Re’aLeigh, Waylon, and Jayden; sister, Patricia Garrard Howard of Weir; and brother, Gary Garrard of Pea Ridge, Ark.
Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Jason Sistrunk, Michael Hunt, Brandon Sistrunk, Tyler Sistrunk, Andrew Allen, and Cassidy Foley. Honorary pallbearers were Clay Eldridge, Craig Britt, Lee Sparks, Christian Nagata, and Jakevon Deal.
Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona.
