Mr. Albert Evans Goodson, 85, of Grenada, formerly of Winona, passed away at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, May 19, at 2 p.m., at the Winona Garden of Memory in Winona, with Rev. Reidis Nash officiating.
Mr. Goodson was born in Calhoun County on July 24, 1934, and was the son of the late Grady and Lois Hubbard Goodson. He was a retired inspector with the Mississippi Department of Transportation and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Goodson was a charter member of the Winona Baptist Temple, where he served as music leader. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Goodson.
Mr. Goodson is survived by his wife, Maureen Scruggs Goodson of Grenada; two sons, Mike Goodson (Tina) of Milford, Ohio, and Ken Goodson (Sandy) of Grenada; sister, Glenda Goodson Little of Calhoun City; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers were Jimmy Browning, Todd Morehead, Marion Bishop, Nathan Goodson, John Goodson, and David Fulp II. The family held a private visitation prior to the service.
