A visitation for Mrs. Elsie Elizabeth Eskridge King Barnhill, of Winona, was held from 1 p.m. until 2 pm, Sunday, Oct. 6, at Oliver Funeral Home. A graveside service followed in Oakwood cemetery. The Rev. Randy Bridges officiated the service. Pallbearers were Dennis Busby, Chad Robertson, Earl Abels, Josh Coaten, Taggart Coaten, Garrett Abels, Barry Eskridge and Jason Eskridge. Honorary pallbearers were Marco Morales, Chris Bradshaw, and Lavenskie Rhodes.
Mrs. Barnhill, 93, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona. She was born to Thomas Everett and Pauline Taggart Eskridge on February 19, 1931. She was a member of North Winona Baptist and a former member of Winona Eastern Star Chapter. She formerly worked as a hairstylist and nurse's aide for Winona Manor.
She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Bozone (David) of Brandon, Pam Robertson (Bill) of Winona, and Jan Gillis of Grenada; her son, Steven Bernard Barnhill of Winona; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces of nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Elvin Dennis King and James Bernard Barnhill; and two brothers, Don Eskridge and Lamar Eskridge.
