Terry G. Brown, Sr., 69, of Carrollton, died on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at University Medical Center in Grenada. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with visitation at 9:30 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Patrick Collins. Burial will be in Moore’s Memorial Cemetery.
Terry was born on April 22, 1954, in Carroll County, to Coles Garrard Brown and Betty Jo Skelton Brown. He was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He attended J.Z. George High School. Terry worked for many years for the Mississippi Forestry Commission where he served as a technician. He was elected in 2015 to the Carroll County Board of Supervisors for Beat 2, where he served until his retirement in 2020. After retirement he delivered cars for Kirk Auto Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Brown; sisters, Beverly Brown Blalack and Melinda Brown; and his parents.
Terry is survived by his wife of 47 of years, Debbie Waycaster Brown of Carrollton; sons, Derick Brown and wife Candace of Rosebloom, and Terry Brown, Jr. and wife Pariss of St. Louis, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Everett Brown, John Coles Brown, and Ellis Brown.
Pallbearers will be Scott Chamblee, Matt Collins, Matthew Sellars, Clayton Taylor, Rusty Brown, and Curtis Blalack. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.
