Funeral services for Mr. John Edward Perkins, of Water Valley, were held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, in the Oliver Funeral Home chapel. Masonic rights concluded the service in the chapel. Burial followed in Poplar Creek Nations Cemetery in Kilmichael. The Rev. Randy Bridges officiated the service.

Erne E Wilkins

Mr. Erne E Wilkins, 88, of Wiggins, died on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024, in Wetumpka, Ala. Erne was born in Winona where, after serving two years in the U.S. Army, he married Rosemary Simpson in 1959. They moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 1962 where he began his 31-year career with the U.S. Census Bureau.
