A North Carrollton man was arrested last week for aggravated assault by Carroll County Sheriff’s deputies.
The Carroll County Jail weekly arrest report stated Michael Liddell was charged with “aggravated assault, manifesting extreme indifference to human life,” on April 3.
According to an officer’s arrest report, Emergency Operations Center dispatchers reported a disturbance call at a tire shop in North Carrollton. According to the dispatch, a man was chasing his mother in the tire shop parking lot.
The man was chasing his mother with a can of Lysol and a lighter, and the blaze produced from the lighter’s flame had set the right side of the mother’s hair on fire, according to the report.
When deputies arrived, the man “was at the driver's side back door” with the Lysol and lighter still in his hands, stated the report. Deputies placed Liddell under arrest.
Sheriff Clint Walker said in an interview that the woman suffered no serious injuries aside from half of her hair being burnt off.
Liddell’s bail was set at $100,000, but his preliminary hearing has not been set.
