Carroll County voters will head back to the polls Tuesday for a runoff election in the Democratic Primary. The Democratic nominee will be decided for the Carroll County Chancery Clerk seat. The Southern District Constable seat, will be determined Tuesday, as there is no Republican or independent challenger on the ballot in November’s General Election.
For chancery clerk, Casey Carpenter will face Christy Noah for the Democratic nomination. The winner will face independent candidates Danette Corder Roland and Jenifer Jones Houston in November’s General Election.
In the August 6 Primary Election, Carpenter and Noah were the top two vote-getters, with Carpenter bringing in 1,402 votes to Noah’s 1,308 votes. Monica Jones followed with 1,023 votes.
The race for the Southern District Constable seat will be determined Tuesday.
Incumbent Rob Banks will face challenger Roshaun Daniels.
In the August 6 primary election, Banks and Daniels picked up the most votes, edging out Travis Gatewood and Andy Langham, who were also on the primary ballot.
Banks received 687 votes to Daniels 528 votes.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
Those voters eligible to vote in Tuesday’s runoff election are those who voted in the Democratic Primary or those who did not vote at all in the primary election. Those who voted in the Republican Primary are not eligible to vote in Tuesday’s runoff.
