The town of Kilmichael is moving forward on an overlay project that is set to begin in late May. During their Tuesday night board meeting, aldermen voted to award Murphree Paving of Tupelo the contract for the paving and overlaying the town wants to do.
Officials in Kilmichael has planned to overlay six streets Binford Street, Money Avenue, Main Street, Ridge Road, a portion of Pine and Stone Streets and Greensboro Street. Public Works Director Johnny Pearson said the work is slated to start in late May.
Earlier this year, the town was awarded $200,000 to resurface Binford Street during the legislature’s special session.
