WINONA – The owners of fast-growing Sure Restore are looking toward gradual expansion into markets around Mississippi and Alabama.
Sure Restore, located at 405A North Applegate Street in Winona, is a water and fire disaster remediation that removes water, smoke and soot from homes and businesses, owner Steve Brown said.
The business began with Brown and owner Seth Kent’s wanting to help local residents and business owners address problems they were facing with frozen, broken pipes.
“My [insurance] customers would have a pipe break in their homes over the weekend. [A service provider] would come in and do the work, but I was never satisfied,” said Brown.
He and Kent started Sure Restore in January 2016, and the business has grown to serve clients locally as well as in Webster County and east beyond Starkville.
Brown said they plan to continue growing.
Their first move was the Golden Triangle and eventually, grow where the market takes them, hoping to begin serving clients in the Jackson, Memphis and the Tuscaloosa metropolitan areas, Brown said.
Kent and Brown are both certified water and fire technicians, and they are OSHA-approved in trauma scene cleanup and willing to serve their clients 24 hours daily.
They also said they clean carpets, serving apartment complexes in Starkville and areas around the Mississippi State University campus.
“It’s a business, but it’s also a service. We respond to people who just don’t know what to do,” said Brown. “We’re naturally problem solvers. When we’re at someone’s house at midnight, we’re not mad; we’re happy to help.”
When they are not helping people cleanup after a disaster, Brown works as an insurance agent with Wellington Associates in Winona. Kent and his wife, Sharon Kent, own WONA radio station in Winona and Winona Quick Lube.
