Hunters who were hoping to score big from their trip, made an unexpected discovery when they found the body of a man.
Montgomery County Sheriff Bubba Nix said hunters found the body of a man on Sunday, Oct. 27 around 7:15 a.m. on Highway 51 near Georgia-Pacific at the Montgomery County and Grenada County lines. Originally, it was believed the man was found in Grenada County, but it was determined that he was in Montgomery County.
Nix identified the man as Rodney Melton, 52, of Bartlett, Tenn., who was reported missing on Friday, Oct. 25 by the Bartlett Police Department. He said Montgomery County Coroner Alan Pratt sent Melton’s body to the crime lab for cause of death.
