As many began their day on May 2, others will gather to cover them in prayer during the National Day of Prayer. There will be three services in Montgomery County, including two services at Christ’s Cross – one at 7:30 p.m. service and a 9:30 a.m. service.
There will also be a service in Kilmichael at noon. This year’s scripture is John 13:34, “Love one another, just as I have loved you.”
Linda Malone, one of the co-chairs of the Winona Ministerial Alliance, said the 7:30 a.m. service is for those who may be on their way to work and can take a few minutes to pray.
“They’re going to be a short 30 minutes each time,” she said.
Malone said the 9:30 a.m. service is for older people who don’t get up so early. The service will cover all aspects of the community from the government down to the babies. She said this is an annual event.
“David Partlow and the Ministerial Alliance have been doing it for about five years now, but Christ at the Cross did it before then, and we would just help,” she said.
