The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, January 29, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
In the southern Plains a developing storm will bring
thunderstorms, some severe, tomorrow. Severe thunderstorms
can produce gusty winds, hail and flooding downpours late in
the day and especially overnight. The storm will bring snow
to the higher elevations of Colorado, New Mexico and
Arizona. Meanwhile, another day of snow squalls is in store
for the Northeast. Rounds of snow squalls will swiftly move
from Michigan to New Jersey. There can be travel disruptions
from rapid reductions in visibility. In northern New
England, a bit of snow can bring slippery travel. It will
also be quite windy across the Great Lakes and Northeast.
Elsewhere, it will be dry in the Southeast with mild
temperatures and mostly sunny skies. In the Northwest, there
can be hazy skies and poor air quality as air stagnates
around the area.
