The Nation's Weather for Friday, September 29, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
The flooding risk will grow in localized sections of the
Northeast throughout the day tomorrow as downpours track
repeatedly over some of the same locations. Lighter showers
will extend from Ohio across the northern and central
Appalachians. Thunderstorms will once again hammer Florida
with intense rainfall in spots, but a large zone of high
pressure will ensure dry conditions in the Southeast away
from the Gulf Coast. Dry weather will stretch through much
of the central Plains, and a warmup will expand into more of
the Midwest as an autumn heat wave kicks off. However,
Minnesota and the eastern Dakotas will have periods of rain
and embedded thunder as a storm races into western Ontario.
Most interior areas of the West will be dry, but a deepening
storm will bring rain to primarily western Oregon.
