This past weekend the Rodeo came to Winona and I sure hope y’all were able to attend at least one of the nights. I went on Saturday to watch my sister compete in barrels, but she didn’t run until after 9:30 p.m. and I said, “I love you, but I’ve got church in the morning.” But while I was there, I was able to see steer wrestling, bronc busting, bareback riding, and team roping, and I can say with a lot of certainty that rodeo and rodeo events are some of the most scary sporting events that you can do. What blows my mind is that the cowboys and cowgirls get back on time and time again after getting knocked off, thrown into the air, and in some cases really hurting themselves.
One of the biggest things we can learn from watching the rodeo is that the most important thing to do is always get back on and not give up. Sometimes that's a really hard thing to do, because you may get knocked down and thrown around a lot in life, but you do not accomplish much or overcome a lot by not getting back up, trying again and facing your fears.
So this week when you experience a fall in an area of your life I pray you get back up and go again because that time may be the time that everything falls into place. Remember Ms. Faulk loves you, but Jesus loves you more.
