This week in the life of Ms. Faulk I got to go celebrate the birthday of one of my favorite kids who was turning 15. I love birthdays, celebrations, and I really love getting and giving gifts. Now he had asked for some specific gifts for his birthday that he had been waiting for and at his party he got them. His face lit up and he was so happy to get the gifts that he had asked for and had been wanting.
Gratefulness and joy are the only way to describe his attitude. After I left the party I thought about him, his gifts, and his attitude and was reminded of all the gifts I’m given by my heavenly Father. You and I get gifts everyday from our Savior. Another day of life, another year around the sun, a friendship, a good report on something you were worried about, and the list could go on and on.
James 1:17 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights.”
This verse is a reminder that every good thing and every perfect thing can only be from one place and that is from our Heavenly Father. Sometimes we take for granted all these gifts, but I hope this week you take some time to think about all the good and perfect gifts in your life and meet them with gratitude and joy.
Remember Ms. Faulk loves you, but Jesus loves you more.
