Have you ever heard the phrase, “Whatever helps you sleep at night?” That’s a phrase that the old folks would say that meant they weren’t arguing with you about it anymore, and if believing it helped you sleep better, then go right on ahead.
Now what that comes to is what brings your mind peace. Our minds can be crazy things. We worry about things, we think on things that aren’t good, or our minds are filled with everything that keeps us busy. All those things can keep us up at night or take joy out of experiences for us.
Jesus wants us to be people who are at peace because we know whose we are, where we are going if we don’t wake up, and understands that the things of this world are temporary, but the things of Christ and things done for Christ will last. When we take our minds off of the things that worry us, things that keep us busy, or things that keep our minds off of Jesus, we are able to be calm and to have a mind that is at peace.
This week my prayer is that you look for those people who are at peace even when everything is falling apart, and try to be a person whose mind is at peace.
Remember Ms. Faulk loves you, but Jesus loves you more.
