Mary Fay Carwile Hooker, age 87, of Castroville, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2025. She was born on August 31, 1937, in Kilmichael.
She was a member of First Baptist Church Castroville. As a young girl, Fay loved riding her horse, Missy, across the countryside with her cousins. Fay loved to read a good book and watch crime shows on TV. She could sew almost anything from Barbie doll clothes to a wedding dress. For family get togethers, everyone looked forward to her tasty desserts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Keith Hooker, and her parents, Mary Katherine Dozier and Thomas Patrick Carwile.
Survivors include daughters Paula Kay Moore, Barbara Lynn Robbins-Gibson, and Kelly (Shorty) Vance Robbins; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
