The Winona Tigers were only able to get in one game this past week as they dropped a Saturday contest to Kirk Academy.
Kirk jumped out to a quick lead and took a 14-4 win over the Tigers in the contest.
The Tigers were scheduled to play Senatobia on Monday in a varsity doubleheader and then travel to Humphreys County on Tuesday and Amanda Elzy on Friday to finish up the week.

Kirk jumped out to an early lead and was able to cruise to a six-inning, 10-run win on Saturday.
Kirk scored four in the first and three in the second and led 7-1 after two innings. Kirk continued to add to its lead as they scored one in the third, two in the fifth and four in the sixth. Winona added three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the final margin.
Kirk outhits Winona 10-6 in the contest and took advantage of five errors and six walks by the Tigers. The Tigers didn’t have any multiple hitters but Connor Helms double and drove in two runs while Griffin Faulkner doubled, drove in a run and scored twice. Jacob Myers and Aiden Eldridge singled and scored while Chase Richardson and Dalton Ferguson also had singles.
The Tigers used four pitchers in the contest as Myers started and pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up seven runs on seven hits and two walks. Clayton Sheffield pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief and gave up one run on one hits. Ferguson pitch the next 1 1/3 innings and gave up two unearned runs on two walks while striking out two. Ashton Hurst pitched the last inning and gave up four runs on two hits and two walks.
