It was a rough week on the hardwoods for the Winona Christian Lady Stars.
WCS lost both contests last week, falling 35-17 to Washington and 54-21 to Manchester.
Winona Christian has a busy week as they were scheduled to play at Humphreys on Monday and host Central Holmes on Tuesday. They are scheduled to finish the week at Kirk on Thursday.
Washington girls 35, Winona Christian 17
The Lady Generals pulled away in the second half and took an 18-point win over the Lady Stars last week.
The first half was low scoring as Washington led 4-2 at the end of the first and each team scored seven points in the second period as the Lady Generals led 11-9 at the half. But Washington pulled away in the second half, outscoring Winona 11-0 in the third and 13-8 in the fourth to take the double-digit win.
Maliana Kuhn led Winona Christian with eight points while Hanna Grace Robertson had five points.
Manchester girls 54, Winona Christian 21
The Lady Mavericks overcame a slow start and pulled away to take a 33-point win last week.
Winona held a slim 6-5 lead at the end of the first period before Manchester outscored the Lady Stars 12-3 in the second to take a 17-9 lead at the half. Manchester then pulled away in the second half and outscored Winona 19-11 in the third and 18-1 in the fourth to take the win.
Maliana Kuhn led Winona Christian with eight points while Allie Leach and Terri Clair Cain each had six points apiece.
