The Winona Christian Lady Stars snapped a two-game losing streak with three wins last week.
The Lady Stars beat North Delta 6-2 and then swept a doubleheader from Winston Academy on Tuesday, winning 13-1 and 17-5.
Winona Christian 6, North Delta 2
The Lady Stars pulled away in the last four innings to take a four-run win on Monday.
Each team scored one run in the second while North Delta scored one in the third to go up 2-1. But Winona took the lead with two in the fourth and added one in the sixth and two in the seventh to take the win.
Winona had nine hits in the contest, led by Gowan Cain, who was 3-for-4 with a triple, home run, three runs scored and two RBIs. Teri Cain was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Makayla McDaniel was 2-for-4 with an RBI as well.
Brantley Stanford started in the circle and pitched 4 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on two hits and four walks. Gowan Cain pitched the last 2 2/3 innings endgame up two hits and a walk while striking out four to pick up the save.
Winona Christian 13, Winston 1
The Lady Stars started strong and took a four-inning, run-rule win on Tuesday in the first game of a doubleheader.
Winona scored six in the first, four in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth.
Winona had 11 hits in the contest. Allie Leach was 2-for-2 with a double and three runs scored while Hannah Robertson was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Lily Welch was 2-for-3 with four RBIs while Aubree Ingold was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Gowan Cain doubled, scored twice and had two RBIs while Teri Cain singled, scored twice and had two RBIs. Brantley Stanford each walked twice and scored two runs.
Gowan Cain started in the circle and pitched all four innings, giving up one unearned run on one hit and three walks while striking out 10.
Winona Christian 17, Winston 5
The Lady Stars banged out 17 hits and cruised to a second-run-rule win on Tuesday.
Winona scored four runs in the first and second innings and led 8-2. The Lady Stars added three in the third and led 11-5 after four innings. Winona finished with six runs in the sixth inning.
Winona had 17 hits in the contest. Hanna Ware was 3-for-4 with a doubled four RBIs while Teri Cain was 3-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Gowan Cain was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Hanna Robertson was 2-for-2 with two walks, four runs scored and three RBIs. Allie Leach was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs while Makayla McDaniel was 2-for-5. Brantley Stanford also singled and drove in two runs.
Stanford started on the circle and pitched 3 2/3 innings and gave up five runs on eight hits and five walks while striking out three. Gowan Cain pitched 2 1/3 innings and struck out seven to pick up the win.
