It was another rough week for the Carroll Academy softball team.
The Lady Rebels dropped two games, falling 12-2 to Canton on Monday and 13-4 on Tuesday.
Canton 12, Carroll 2
The Lady Panthers had a pair of five-run innings and took a five-inning, run-rule win on Monday over the Lady Rebels.
Canton scored five in the first, two in the second and five in the fourth while Carroll scored single runs in the fourth and fifth,
Canton outhit Carrol l8-4 in the contest. Andy Milton was 2-for-2 to lead the Lady Rebels at the plate while Naveah McCrory and Kylee Mims each singled and scored a run.
Kaylyn Wiltshire pitched five innings and gave up 12 runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out four.
Canton 13, Carroll 4
The Lady Panthers scored in each of the first five innings and took a nine-run win over the Lady Rebels on Tuesday.
Canton led 3-1 after two innings before Carroll scored three runs in the of the third and led 4-3. But Canton then scored five in the third, one the fourth and four in the fifth to take the win.
Carroll had five hits in the contest, led by Layla Neese who was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Naveah McCrory singled and drove in a run while Rachel Dugger singled and scored. Audrey Woods also singled for Carroll.
Neese started in the circle and pitched four innings, giving up 13 runs on nine hits and 10 walks while striking out four. Kaylyn Wiltshire pitched two innings in relief and gave up three hits and a walk.
