KILMICHAEL – Montgomery County deputies responded to reports of gunfire on East Stone Street in Kilmichael last Wednesday, August 25.
“This was the second shooting in this area of Kilmichael in a week,” said Sheriff Jeff Tompkins.
According to Tompkins, around 2 p.m. on August 25, deputies responded to a 911 call from a neighbor reporting shots being fired outside a residence located on East Stone Street. When deputies arrived at the scene and went to the door of the residence, a female answered and told deputies only she and a friend were inside the home.
The female gave deputies permission to search the home, and they found a man hiding under a bed.
Deshawn Johnson was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace. He was taken to Carroll Montgomery Regional Correctional Facility in Vaiden, where he was since been released.
On Thursday, August 19, a man was shot in the leg in that same area of Kilmichael.
Deputies, with assistance of the Winona Police Department, arrested Eddie Green on August 24 in Winona and charged him with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting.
