Winona Christian found out on Tuesday that they will not be playing French Camp this Friday.
French Camp quarantined their entire football team on Tuesday after an outbreak at the school, forcing the Panthers to cancel their game.
Winona Christian football coach Junior Graham said it appears as if the Stars will now have the week off and start preparing for Oak Hill next week.
“It would have to be a perfect storm for us to play this week,” Graham said. “It would have to be the right team and right situation. We aren’t going to play a game just to play a game. I took a look at the people that aren’t playing and I don’t see anybody that we are going to invite to play here.”
Graham said he would spend Wednesday starting to prepare for next week’s opponent, Oak Hill, who playing Benton Academy this week.
“We will start looking at last year’s film since they didn’t play last week,” Graham said. “We will start working on Oak Hill this week. I thought we had two phenomenal days of preparation for French Camp and a really good plan going in. But now we will start to prepare for Oak Hill. And honestly at this point, we are more worried about Winona Christian than anybody else. We have to continue to grow.”
