The Winona High School girls volleyball team improved to 4-2 overall with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Louisville High School on Aug. 26 at Louisville.
The Lady Tigers won the first set rather easily, 25-15, and battled to win the second set, 25-22. However, Louisville took the next two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-19. The third set was a nail-biter as Winona came out on top 15-13.
“I told the girls after it was done they were going to give me a heart attack,” said WHS head coach Gunner Nichols.
Winona’s match at Grenada High School Monday was postponed because of the weather. Nichols said they may try and reschedule the match.
The Lady Tigers go to Noxapater Thursday.
