The Carroll Academy Lady Rebels split a pair of district softball games this past week.
After dropping a 4-3 game to Indianola on Monday, the Lady Rebels beat Central Holmes 14-12 on Tuesday.
Carroll is scheduled to return to district play on Tuesday as they host Winona. The Lady Rebels will then be off until Monday, Aug. 23 as they travel to Greenville St. Joseph.
Indianola 4, Carroll 3
The Lady Colonels scored a single run in the sixth to take a district win over the Lady Rebels on Monday.
Carroll scored one in the second to take an early lead before Indianola scored three in the top of the fourth. Carroll then tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Indianola then scored one in the sixth to take the win.
Each team had 10 hits in the contest as Bella Carter was 3-for-3 with a double. Mary Braxton Cobb was 2-for-3 while Alana Garrett doubled and drove in a run. Helen Claire Cobb also singled and drove in a run. Meri Brynn Reeves walked twice and had two stolen bases.
Peyton Perry started in the circle and gave up four runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out two.
Carroll 14, Central Holmes 12
The Lady Rebels scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to come from behind and take a two-run win over the Lady Trojans on Tuesday in a district contest.
Carroll scored four in the first and two in the second to lead 6-2 after three innings. Central Holmes then scored five in the fourth and two in the fifth and led 10-7 after five innings. Carrol then scored seven runs in the sixth and led 14-10.
Carroll had 13 hits in the contest and took advantage of 10 walks. Helen Claire Cobb was 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored. Bella Carter was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored while Presley Woods was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs. Shelbi Laine Kelly was 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Lexi McClain and Alana Garrett each had two hits and scored a run.
Peyton Perry pitched all seven innings and gave up 12 runs on 19 hits and three walks while striking out six.
