The J.Z. George football team has been hard at work during spring drills and will conclude the spring season with a game against Ethel High School on May 13 at Farris Jenkins Stadium in North Carrollton.
The Jaguars are under the direction of second-year coach Rusty Smith, who guided them to a 6-6 overall record and a spot in the second round of the playoffs, where they dropped a hard-fought 30-28 decision to East Union. J.Z. George beat Pisgah 28-13 in the first round.
The spring game will kick off at 2 p.m. There is a $5 charge at the gate.
J.Z. George opens its 2021 season on Aug. 27 at home against Greenville Christian School.
In other athletic events at J.Z. George, athletic director Nathan Moncrief said the banquet for all sports will be held on Friday, May 14 at 6 p.m. in the school’s gymnasium.
