Memorial services for Herman Edward Maxey will be held at a later date.
Mr. Maxey, age 78, died on Thursday, Sept. 29, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1944, in Myrtle, Miss. to the late Edward and Annie Mae Warren Maxey and lived in Greenwood. He graduated from Boonville High School, and he was a registered nurse at Tyler Holmes Hospital in Winona, until his retirement. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Corinne Tingle Maxey of Greenwood; two sons, Kevin Maxey of Water Valley and Keith Maxey of Memphis; two stepdaughters, Linda Bond of Greenwood and Diane Ayers of Carrollton; stepsons, Jerry Henry of Batesville and David Henry of Batesville; and a sister, Helen Maxey of Olive Branch; and five grandchildren.
