The Carroll Academy Rebels grabbed a much-needed three-game sweep last week in district play.
The Rebels pounded Central Holmes last week, winning 15-0 and 13-4 on Monday and then finished out the series with a 12-1 win on Tuesday.
Carroll has a three-game series this week with rival Winona Christian this week with a doubleheader in Winona on Tuesday starting at 4 p.m. Game three of the series is set for Friday at 6 p.m.
Carroll 15, Central Holmes 0
The Rebels needed just three innings to take a run-rule win over the Trojans on Monday in the first game of a doubleheader.
Carroll scored four in the first, five in the second and three in the sixth.
Carroll had 11 hits in the contest and took advantage of five errors. Ryan Logan was 2-for-2 with three runs scored while Reid Blaylock was 2-for-3 with five RBIs. Drew Thomas was 2-for-3 while Tyler Brooks doubled and scored three runs. Lofton Holly doubled, scored two runs and had three RBIs. Tanner Costilow singled and had two RBIs while Ethan Mims singled, stole two bases and scored two runs. Maddox Carpenter singled, stole two bases and scored three runs.
Carpenter started on the mound and pitched one inning and gave up one hit while Mims pitched two innings and struck out two.
Carroll 13, Central Holmes 4
The Rebels used a pair of bookend four-run innings and took a nine-run win over the Trojans on Monday in the second game of a doubleheader.
Carroll scored four in the first while Central Holmes answered with three in the bottom of the frame. Carroll then added two in the second, three in the third and four in the sixth.
Carroll outhit Central Holmes 15-5 in the contest. Ryan Logan was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs. Tyler Brooks was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Maddox Carpenter was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Lofton Holly was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Reid Blaylock, Drew Thomas and Hayes White also had doubles.
Logan started on the mound and pitched all seven innings, giving up four runs on five hits and five walks while striking out 13.

The Rebels used a seven-run second-inning and took a five-inning, run-rule win to finish a sweep of the Trojans on Tuesday.
Carroll scored one in the first, seven in the second, three in the third and one in the fifth while Central Holmes scored one in the third.
Carroll had eight hits and and drew nine walks. Lofton Holly was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Maddox Carpenter was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Ryan Logan doubled and scored two runs. Tanner Costilow had drawn three walks, stole three bases and scored two runs. Ryan Logan also scored two runs while Hayes White walked twice.
Logan pitched one inning and gave up one hit and one walk. Drew Thomas pitched the next four innings and gave up one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three.
