Lillie Nell Acy Daves, 87, of Black Hawk, died on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, at her residence. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with visitation 12 p.m. until service time. The Rev. Ed McDaniel officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Daves was born February 5, 1937, in Black Hawk to Angus “Son” Acy and Leona Funderburk Acy. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the Ladies Faith class, WMU, and taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Black Hawk Homemakers Club. She enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren, working in her flowers, and gardening. She was employed by Henderson-Kickernick in Lexington for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Percy Daves; son, Ricky Daves; and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Daves Mitchell of Black Hawk; sister, Peggy Gordin and husband Harold of Black Hawk; two grandchildren, Eric Mitchell and LaTonya Jefferson; and two great-grandchildren, Julian Mitchell and Piper Mitchell.
Pallbearers were Kevin Gordin, Kirk Gordin, Kobi Gordin, Justin Gordin, Darryl Ellis and Marion Boggs.
