Graveside funeral services for Mr. Larry McCorkle of Vaiden were held on Friday, Sept. 20, immediately following visitation at Vaiden Cemetery. The Rev. Terry Corley and Keith McCorkle officiated the services. Pallbearers were Cole McCorkle, Hunter McCorkle, Grayson Jones, Shane Jones, Josh Abels, and Devin Roberts.
Visitation was held on Friday, Sept. 20, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. McCorkle, 79, passed away at his residence on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024. He was born in Vaiden to Joe Gee and Lillian Estelle Welch McCorkle on Nov. 26, 1944. He was a member of Eskridge Baptist Church and the Winona Masonic Lodge. He was a retired brick mason.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia McGee McCorkle of Vaiden, daughter, Cindy McCorkle Jones (Shane) of Winona; son, Larry Keith McCorkle (Teresa) of Vaiden; stepdaughter, Nicki Hester of Wesson; stepson, Ted Hester, Jr. (Melissa) of Richland; brother, Roy Wayne McCorkle of Winona; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bryant Scott McCorkle; brother, Joe Don McCorkle; and granddaughter, Sunny Blair McCorkle.
