Winona High School’s girls basketball team moved to 3-4 overall with a 46-31 triumph at Coffeeville High School last Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers led 15-9 after the first period, but Coffeeville fought back to tie the game at 21-21 by halftime. Winona pulled away with a 15-5 run in the third frame to make it 36-26 headed to the fourth quarter.
Ariella Jones led Winona with 14 points, and Madison Keys notched 12 points. Mikalah Coker had nine points.
In the boys game, Winona dropped a 56-28 decision to the Pirates to fall to 1-6 overall. Coffeeville led 19-9 after one, 33-18 at the half and 52-20 after the third frame.
Kentrell Crawford paced Winona with eight points, and Jalon Oliver and Ayden Johnson had six points each.
Winona, which played at Noxapater High School Tuesday, hosts J.Z. George Friday.

The Lady Jaguars dropped a 43-17 decision to Desoto Central High School at the Senatobia High School Tournament last Tuesday.
Desoto Central only led 9-7 after one but took a 25-9 lead at the half and 32-11 after the third frame.
Makylah Banks led the Lady Jags (1-7) with 12 points and seven rebounds, and JaMiya Leahman had five rebounds to go with two points.
The Lady Jaguars took on Independence High School last Monday at the tournament and fell 46-13. Independence held leads of 15-3 after one, 19-8 at the half and 34-10 after the third period.
Banks had five points for the Lady Jags.
J.Z. George, which played host to Kosciusko High School Tuesday, visits Winona Friday.
