The Winona High School girls fast-pitch softball team played a pair of games against Vardaman High School last week.
The Lady Tigers lost 15-13 last Tuesday and 17-5 last Thursday to the Lady Rams.
In Tuesday’s game, Vardaman plated five in the first, three runs each in the third, fourth and sixth frames and one in the fifth. Winona scored one run each in the first and third innings, six in the second, two in the fourth and three in the fifth. They were outhit 13-5 by Vardaman.
Mary Beth Brannon had a double, and Alisha Taylor had two singles and scored two runs. Emily Casiday and Lindsey Berryhill had a single each.
Madison Henderson took the loss in the circle as she walked two and struck out four.
There were no results submitted from Thursday’s game.
Winona (4-8 overall), which played at Leake Central Monday and at Yazoo County Tuesday, entertains Ruleville Thursday and goes to Ruleville Monday.
