After having the first two games of the week postponed for various reasons, the J.Z. George High School girls fast-pitch softball team got to play last Friday against visiting Charleston High School in North Carrollton.
The Lady Jaguars took care of business in quick fashion as they beat the Lady Tigers 16-1 in two innings. They plated 16 runs in the first, and Charleston scored one run in the first.
Saralyn Roberts (2-2) got the win in the circle as she allowed just the one run on two hits, walking one and fanning three.
Makayla Cobbins had a single and double, scoring two runs and driving in a pair. Roberts had a single and double, scoring twice and had an RBI. Tysalyn Meeks had a double, one RBI and scored two runs, and Abbygail Clardy had a single and scored twice.
Cadence Jones scored two runs and drove in two runs, and Kaylee Wilkinson scored twice and had an RBI. Dakiya Robinson scored once and drove in a run.
J.Z. George, which visited McAdams Monday and hosted Water Valley Tuesday, entertains Union Thursday in a Region 4-2A contest.
