The J.Z. George High School archery team had its best score of the season as they shot 3,111, which was good enough for second place at the Clinton Christian School Invitational Saturday.
The host school shot 3,132 to claim first place.
Sophomore Kelton Sanders continued to shoot well as he led all male shooters for J.Z. George with a 278. Gallaxie Little was the top female shooter with a 271.
Other shooters and their scores from Saturday were Dustin Dickerson, 274; Madison Miley, 265; Abbygail Clardy, 262; Allen Wiggins, 256; Jaxson Mulvihill, 254; Chase Gentry, 254; Zachary Givens, 252; Emma Coy Boyles, 252; Jaelyn Foreman, 247; and Mackenzie Ainsworth, 246.
J.Z. George, which was scheduled to have a shoot Tuesday with Cleveland Central and Pillow Academy at its gym, will host Kosciusko, Winona and Pillow on March 18. The North half shoot will be held March 25 at Starkville High School.
