The J.Z. George High School archery team had a final score of 3,082 points at the North half shoot last Tuesday in Starkville.
The Jaguars finished second in the AIMS 2A Division. East Union was first with a score of 3,175, and Ingomar High School was third with a 2,729. O’Bannon High School was fourth with a score of 2,447.
Dustin Dickerson led the way for J.Z. George with a 275, and Madison Miley was next with a 269.
Other competitors and their scores were Kelton Sanders, 262; Gallaxie Little, 261; Wyatt Goss, 259; Jaelyn Foreman, 258; Andrew Bowers, 255; Zachary Givens, 254; Allen Wiggins, 253; Mackenzie Ainsworth, 250; Ava Hollis, 244; and Abbygail Clardy, 242.
Other J.Z. George shooters and their scores were Brayden Counts, 240; Jaxson Mulvihill, 237; Shyera Hemphill, 227; Peyton Hobson, 227; Emma Coy Boyles, 211; Eli Miley, 174; and Evan Thomas, 166.
The state archery competition is April 7-10 at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson.
