Services for Gary Lawrence Moore will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church in Carroll County.
Mr. Moore, age 70, died on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Crystal Health and Rehab in Greenwood, Miss.
He was born on Nov. 27, 1952, in Greenwood, Miss., to the late Wallace Harmon “Sonny” Moore and Barbara Jean Lawrence Moore. He worked for the Mississippi Forestry Commission for a number of years as a forester. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Carroll County where he served as the song leader for 20 years, and he served as the associational song leader for the Carroll Montgomery Baptist Association. He was the pastor of New Salem Baptist Church in Vaiden for two years and Centerville Baptist Church in Carroll County for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Adcock; and a nephew, David Noah Hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Beth White Moore; sister, Teresa (Mike) Hunt; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Evans, Jessica Adcock, Warren Lee McNeer Jr., Michael McNeer, Kristen Hunt Strong, Thomas Zacharia Hunt, Joshua Hunt, and Caleb Hunt; 12 great nieces and nephews; and six great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by an army of Hoosier in-laws who loved him as their own.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the church. The Rev. Eddie Carpenter and the Rev. Kevin Tribble will officiate the services.
