Frances Elizabeth Lewis McBride, 97, of Greenwood, died Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Vaiden Community Living Center. Graveside services were held Tuesday, August 26, 2 p.m. in the McBride Family Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home. Rev. Ed McDaniel officiated the services.
Mrs. McBride was born on December 12, 1927, in Jackson, to the late James Claude Lewis and Lydia Stroud Lewis. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who loved raising her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved working in her flower beds. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Belma A. McBride; and a sister, Jackie Broadwater.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Gardner of Spring Hill, Tenn.; sons, Jimmy McBride of Greenwood, Alton McBride of Greenwood, and Tim McBride (Cindy) of Winona; brother, Lloyd Lewis of Brandon; grandchildren, Howard Gardner (Leigh), Jeff Gardner (Melanie), Jason McBride (Bethany), Beth Montgomery (Patrick), Lauren Magnuson (Kris), Josh McBride (Stephanie), and Caleb McBride; seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Howard Gardner, Jeff Gardner, Jason McBride, Josh McBride, Caleb McBride, and Austin Montgomery.
