Many of us are familiar with the words of the old hymn, “I woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus”. What a wonderful thought for the day! It’s such a blessing to start each and every day focused on Jesus. It’s a gift from God, one not to be taken lightly.
Philippians 4:8 states finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
The words of this hymn and passage of scripture remind us to remain focused on the things of God. When we do this, our actions will reflect the same and we will be better equipped to face the distractions of the world which come in all forms.
John 10:10 reminds us that the thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but Jesus came so that we might have life and one that we can live more abundantly. However, if we are caught up in the things of this world, we will eventually be destroyed.
Therefore, in all your doing, remain focused on the things of God – things that are true, that are honest, that are pure, that are lovely and of good report so that you too may live a life of abundance. Stay focused on GOD!
