The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors convened Monday morning, beginning with the opening of sealed bids for the Red Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Only one bid was received, submitted by G & W Steel Buildings for $295,000. The Board moved to take the bid under advisement for further evaluation.
Several Montgomery County officials are slated to attend important training sessions in the coming months, as authorized by the County Board of Supervisors.
Emergency Management Director Allan Pratt and Lisa White will represent the county at two significant events. They are set to attend the 2024 MS 911 Conference in Biloxi from October 28 to 31. Prior to that, Pratt and White will participate in the CIT Dispatch Training in Tupelo on September 10 and 11.
In other training news, Jason Moore has been approved to attend E-Telecommunications Training in Canton on August 19 and 20. This session aims to enhance the county's electronic communication capabilities.
A group of county officials including Ryan Wood, Sheriff Jeff Tompkins, Johnny Pearson, and Allan Pratt will take part in the MASIT Risk Management Training on August 20 and 21. This training is crucial for improving the county's risk assessment and management strategies.
The Board of Supervisors has authorized payment for registration fees, lodging, and other travel expenses associated with these training sessions.
