The Winona High School girls track team just missed out on winning the Super Region 2-3A meet last week at their home track as East Webster edged out the Lady Tigers 112-111.
Mooreville was third with 74 points, and Yazoo County fourth with 69 points. Humphreys County placed fifth with 66 points, and Aberdeen was sixth with 39 points. Amanda Elzy came in seventh with 35 points, and Ruleville was last with 19 points.
On the boys side, Winona came in fifth with 50 points. Yazoo County scored 139 points for first place, and Mooreville was second with 118 points. Ruleville came in third with 70 points, and East Webster was fourth with 53 points. Humphreys County finished sixth with 48 points, and Elzy was seventh with 41 points. Aberdeen was last with 16 points.
The top four from each event move on to the North State 3A Saturday, which will be held at Winona.
