The world is ever changing and everything in it. Change is inevitable. But God gives us one assurance - He never changes. The bible tells us that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We realize that change takes place the moment we are born until the day we leave earth. We go through the different developmental stages of life, each one bringing about its own changes, from infancy to late adulthood and all the stages in between. As we look around, we notice the changes of time. Technology has blossomed. We have gone from horse and carriage to vehicles that can accelerate in a matter of seconds. We have gone from the telegram to the telephone, more especially from the party line to individual cell phones. Yes, change is inevitable. Seasons change. Time changes. People change. Relationships change, but our God is immutable; he never changes. God is omnipresent, everywhere at the same time. He is omniscient, all knowing. He is omnipotent, all powerful. What an awesome God we serve! The greatest change we can make is to follow the teaching of Romans 12:2 as the Lord directs us to not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let Him transform us into a new person by changing the way we think. By doing so, we learn to know God’s will for us, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old thing are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Yes, change is inevitable. In closing, turn to God and change the way you think and act, because the kingdom of heaven is near (Matthew 4:17b)! God wants us to change and start living His way.
