CARROLLTON – The Carroll County Board of Supervisors discussed the county’s budget for the 2018 fiscal year during a regular meeting at the Carroll County Courthouse in Carrollton on Monday.
According to Tony Green, finance director/governmental specialist with North Central Planning and Development District, they expect the millage for the General Fund to generate $3,104,626 in property tax funds for the 2018 fiscal year, which is $124,550 more than in the 2017 year.
“This will give us more revenue to fund the budgeted expenditure requests that I’ve not received yet,” stated Green on Tuesday morning.
He stated that one county-wide mill will be estimated at $74,134 for the 2018 fiscal year, which is $2,799 more per mill than in 2017.
“That’s good compared to what I’ve seen in surrounding counties,” said Green.
Green also estimated the value of real property for 2018 to be $58,686,123, which is a $2,184,041 increase from the $56,502,082 estimated value in 2017.
