Although the vote is not yet certified, with six outstanding affidavit ballots not included in the totals, it appears Brandye Brannon and Jill White Greenlee have won seats on the Winona Montgomery Consolidated School District Board of Trustees.
According to Montgomery County Circuit Clerk Lanelle Martin, the most recent vote count is still incomplete and uncertified due to six outstanding affidavit ballots from lack of photo identification.
“Those people have five business days to bring in photo ID,” Martin said.
The deadline to bring in photo IDs was Wednesday at 5 p.m., past the press deadline. Martin said the county has 16 days after the election to certify the vote.
Martin said those outstanding votes will not change the results she posted the morning of November 7.
According to those results, In School Board District 1, which covers Duck Hill and the northern portion of the county, Brannon led Kolandty Williams, 755 to 328, unofficially. In District 2, which covers Kilmichael, Poplar Creek, Stewart and the southern portion of the county, Greenlee led Loretta Hopkins 697 to 322, unofficially.
As part of the consolidation of the Winona Separate School District, which had appointed board members, and Montgomery County, which had elected members, the board will have three appointees from Winona and two elected members from Montgomery County.
