Both Winona Christian and Carroll Academy saw their girls basketball seasons come to an end last week in the Class 4A North State Tournament.
Carroll dropped a 37-23 decision to Washington while Winona Christian fell 40-18 to Manchester.
Washington girls 39, Carroll 23
The Lady Generals used a big second period to take a 14-point win over the Lady Rebels in the opening round of the Class 4A North State tournament on Tuesday.
Washington led 8-4 at the end of the first period and then outscored Carroll 17-1 in the second period to take a 25-5 lead at the half. Washington took the third period 8-7 while Carroll outscored the Lady Generals 13-4 for the final margin.
Carlie Hoover led Carroll with 10 points and Ann Shelby Whitworth had six points. Madelyn Singleton and Nevaeh each had four points apiece.
Manchester girls 40, Winona Christian 18
The Lady Stars saw their season come to an end on Tuesday as they fell to the Lady Mavericks by 22 points.
