In a Monday meeting, the Carroll County Board of Supervisors approved a quote to repair a Sheriff’s deputy 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.
According to Sheriff Clint Walker, while a deputy was helping a civilian remove their car from a ditch on Mississippi Highway 82, the front right side tire exploded on the civilian vehicle and blew the rubber from the tire into the back of the Sheriff’s deputy vehicle causing damage while nearly missing the deputy, who was standing beside the vehicle.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident, according to Sheriff Walker.
Chancery Clerk Casey Carpenter said he filed the damage with the county insurance, and he just needed the quote to be approved.
Claude Fluker of Beat Four made the motion to accept the low bid of $6,208.66, and Josh Hurst of Beat Two seconded the motion. There was no opposition.
