Carroll Academy only got in one game last week on the baseball diamond.
The Rebels fell behind early and lost 8-4 to Manchester Academy on Thursday.
Carroll was scheduled to play two games this week, taking on Manchester and Kirk in a doubleheader. The Rebels will return from spring break and begin district play against Oak Hill.
Manchester 8, Carroll 4
The Mavericks used some timely hitting to take a four-run win over the Rebels on Thursday.
Manchester scored two in the first, fourth and sixth with one in the third and fifth. Carroll scored three in the fifth and one in the seventh.
Each team had nine hits in the contest as Hayden Hopkins was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Hayes White was 2-for-3 while Reid Blaylock was 2-for-4. Reed Thomas doubled and drove in two runs. Jake Truitt singled and scored a run while Parker Daves also singled for the Rebels.
Blaylock started on the mound and took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out two. Daves pitched the next two innings and gave up three runs on three hits while C.J. McDonald and Cole Beckwith also pitched one inning.
