It was a tough start to district play for defending champion Carroll Academy last week.
The Rebels lost all three to Oak Hill, falling 13-12 and 5-3 on Tuesday. They finished the week with a 12-0 loss to Oak Hill on Thursday.
Carroll was scheduled to host Canton on Monday in a doubleheader and then play at Canton on Tuesday before the Easter break.
Oak Hill 13, Carroll 12
The Raiders scored in the bottom of the seventh to take a walk-off win over the Rebels on Tuesday.
Each team scored three runs in the first inning while Oak Hill scored one in the second and led 4-3 after three. But Carroll scored four in the fourth and each team scored two in the fifth as the Rebels led 10-6 after five. Carroll added three more in the top of the sixth and led 13-6 before Oak Hill scored six in the sixth to tie the game and one in the seventh to take the win.
Carroll outhit Oak Hill 17-11 in the contest and drew 11 seven walks. Jake Truitt led Carroll at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs while Reed Thomas was 2-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored. Tyler Brooks was 2-for-4 with two runs scored while C.J. McDonald was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Hayes White and Ethan Mims were each 2-for-4 with an RBI while Landon Grantham was 2-for-5 with a double. Reid Blaylock also doubled and scored a run.
Ethan Mims started on the mound and pitched four innings, giving up six runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four. Thomas pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up six runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two. Grantham pitched the last inning and gave up one run on one hit and one walk.
Oak Hill 5, Carroll 3
The Raiders used one big inning and held on to take a two-run win over the Rebels in the second game of the day on Tuesday.
Carroll scored one in the first while Oak Hill answered with five in the second. Carroll added one in the fourth and sixth innings.
Carroll had seven hits as Reed Thomas was 2-for-3 while Landon Grantham was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Jake Truitt singled and scored two runs while Tyler Brooks walked twice and scored.
Hayes White pitched all six innings for Carroll, giving up five runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out five.
Oak Hill 12, Carroll 0
The Raiders needed just four inning to take a run-rule win on Thursday to sweep the series.
Oak Hill scored two in the first, four in the second and six in the fourth.
Carroll had just three hits on singles from Reid Blaylcok, C.J. McDonald and Jake Truitt.
Austin Mims started on the mound for Carroll and gave up six runs on five hits and three walks in one inning. Blaylock pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up six runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three. Pxxx Daves got the last out for Carroll.
