Jackson, Miss. - Mississippi Forestry Association (MFA) named Barbara Collins of Winona, Mississippi, as the 2024 MFA Outstanding Service to CFAs Award recipient. This award recognizes an individual who has gone above and beyond in their work with a local County Forestry Association (CFA).
Collins has served as secretary of the Montgomery County Forestry Association (CFA) for the past 15 years. She compiles and sends out all mail and email correspondence for the Montgomery CFA and handles logistics for CFA meetings and field days, including setting up speakers, caterers, and meeting dates and locations.
She has a cheerful manner that encourages CFA members to work together, is always the first to arrive and set up for meetings, and is always willing to help any CFA member. She has been an invaluable resource to the Montgomery CFA and to MFA, and she has been a critical key to the Montgomery CFA’s success for many years.
Mississippi Forestry Association's vision is to serve as the "Voice of Forestry" in Mississippi. MFA’s mission is leading diverse groups to promote landowner rights, environmental stewardship, member prosperity, and community understanding. MFA members and staff work to accomplish the mission by conducting public affairs, communication, and education programs that will foster better understanding and appreciation of conservation, development, and use of forestland and resources.
